1 SEASONAL MAINTENANCE POSITION at Trailside Museums and Zoo

TITLE (Temporary/Seasonal) – Park & Recreation Aide 5 ( Maintenance Staff)

$12.53/hr., 40 hrs./week (includes weekends & holidays) Work Schedule: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

Duration: June through November, extension possible

DutiesUnder the supervision of higher level personnel, the Maintenance Worker will maintain, repair and clean the grounds, exhibits and buildings of Trailside Museums and Zoo. This will include daily cleaning of restrooms, exhibit buildings and collecting trash and recycling, and the maintenance of the grounds and upkeep and repairs, including painting and basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry. This involves the operation and maintenance of ride-on and push mowers, weed whackers, backpack blowers, power saws, and other small engines and hand tools. Will assist with facility operations, including daily opening and closing of Trailside buildings and crowd control during the end of day closing procedures.

Minimum Qualifications: Basic maintenance experience and familiarity with the operation of maintenance tools preferred. Must be able to perform medium to heavy physical labor, comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, able to learn new skills, work on varied assignments, take pride in maintaining grounds and buildings, have a strong work ethic, and work well with others and be courteous with visitors. Must have a valid driver’s license and social security card.

Start Date: Immediately.
